On The Edge
On The Edge
This project took on an ethnographic component with real time and historic research of a specific city block in Atlanta. I chose to focus on Edgewood Avenue in old fourth ward of Atlanta. From our research we were asked to design something that would represent the block. From my research I came across the racial tension that plagued the area, and also came across recent protest that had taken place on this avenue over racial tension in America. Currently it has a very diverse nightlife crowd, and I think it could become a very unifying place in the city, so based on this I decided to create a space that could serve as meeting place and offer support, supplies, and strategy to many different social justice causes. I created the branding for this storefront/collaborative building, as well as a protest super pack that includes useful and vital items for a protest with the On The Edge branding on it. The branding is reminiscent of spray paint stencil to give the vibe of protest signs. The branding can be seen in black, white and a metallic reflective silver color, for night visibility.
